Aerospace Technician III

Varstaff is currently searching for the following:
 Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written
procedures.
 Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.
 Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.
 Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings,
specifications, and written procedures.
 Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or
maintenance.
 Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
 Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight
vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground
support equipment as required.
 Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque
wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments.
 Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
 Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD,
and ESD
 Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.
 Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.

 Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of
inclusion.
 Qualifications:
 5+years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
 Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install, instrumentation
and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly.
 Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test
procedures.

 Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds
 Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person.
 Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
 Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.
 Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.
 Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs.
 Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully
admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
 Desired:
 Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
 Proven success as a “hands-on” technical leader
 Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team
environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
 Continuous improvement attitude. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and

 Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
 Experience in handling large aerospace components
 Experience in assembling large tight tolerance structures.
 Experience in new product introduction
 Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
 Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
 Ability to lift heavy items up to 50lbs.
 Military experience
