Varstaff is currently searching for an Aerospace Technician in Kent, Washington.
Responsibilities include:
Manufacture, assemble, and test custom machine hardware according to written
procedures, engineering models, work orders, drawings, and specifications
Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models,
drawings, specifications, and written procedures
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or
maintenance
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial
lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment
Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to,
torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical
measuring instruments
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support
5S, FOD, and ESD
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, test
procedures and P&Ds
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around critical
hardware
Experience using common assembly and integration tools
Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
Work at heights on work stands and in lifts.
Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 40lbs
Experience with verbal and written communication of technical data, results, and
associated tools (confluence, MS-Office suite)
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder),
or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced
dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
Experience in handling large/expensive components
Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures
Experience in new product introduction
Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
