Aerospace Technician

Kent, Washington
Varstaff is currently searching for an Aerospace Technician in Kent, Washington. 

Responsibilities include:

 Manufacture, assemble, and test custom machine hardware according to written
procedures, engineering models, work orders, drawings, and specifications
 Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
 Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models,
drawings, specifications, and written procedures
 Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or
maintenance
 Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
 Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial
lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment
 Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to,
torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical
measuring instruments
 Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency

 Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support
5S, FOD, and ESD
Qualifications: 
 High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
 Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, test
procedures and P&Ds
 Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around critical
hardware
 Experience using common assembly and integration tools
 Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
 Work at heights on work stands and in lifts.
 Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 40lbs
 Experience with verbal and written communication of technical data, results, and
associated tools (confluence, MS-Office suite)
 Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder),
or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
 Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
 Work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced
dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
 Experience in handling large/expensive components
 Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures
 Experience in new product introduction
 Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
