Avionics Technician (all levels)

Varstaff is searching for Avionics Technician (all levels) for Hagerstown. 
 

As an Avionics Technician IV, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations.
You'll be responsible for moderately complex installation, testing, troubleshooting and repair of avionics components, and maintenance of test equipment, tools, and manuals. Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:
Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
Frequently exposed to loud noises.
Safety Sensitive Position:
Responsible for the safety or security of people or property. Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials. Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.
Performs aviation related duties.
Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.

This position demands hands-on proficiency with harness assembly and aircraft modification, including harness routing, connector termination, ring-out, and functional testing. These specialized skills are crucial to ensure the proper integration and performance of complex aircraft systems during modification projects. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experience with terminating the following connector types:

  1. COAX
  2. CIR-MIL
  3. RJ-45 Network
  4. D-SUB

Experience with TRIAX, QUADRAX, Fiber-Optic assemblies, and El Ochito RF Connectors is not required but would certainly be a nice-to-have.

Skills:

Must-haves: Must have own tools in good working order Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex, technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings Advanced skills with moderately complex avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering' and crimping techniques Preferred: Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROLAbility to mentor and guide subordinatesBasic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pitot static equipment Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US MilitaryAbility to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required

Must-haves: High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience A higher-level degree may substitute for experience Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
