About the Job:

In this role, you will take ownership of the full procurement lifecycle for Blue Origin, managing purchases from requisition creation through final invoice payment. Focusing on Machined Parts or Avionics, you will issue RFPs/RFQs, perform cost analyses, execute formal supplier negotiations, and construct complex long-range procurement agreements and sourcing partnerships. You will maintain strict supply chain compliance under FAR/DFAR and AS9100 standards, drive expediting efforts, clean up purchase requisitions (PRs), and manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery of production materials within budget.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of buying experience in Aerospace or Defense procurement and contract management.

  • Direct buying experience in Machined Parts or Avionics.

  • Deep experience interpreting engineering data, engineering specifications, and source control drawings.

  • Hands-on experience with U.S. government regulations and compliance standards, including FAR, DFAR, SOX, and AS9100.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.

Must-Have Skills

  • Full-Lifecycle Procurement & Contracting: Ownership of the end-to-end purchasing process, long-range agreements, sourcing partnerships, and invoice resolution.

  • RFP/RFQ, Cost Analysis & Negotiations: Expertise issuing RFPs/RFQs, conducting cost/price analyses, developing negotiation strategies, and leading vendor negotiations.

  • Expediting & PR Cleanup: Strong hands-on capability to expedite hot orders, clear PR backlogs, update order statuses, and resolve delivery bottlenecks.

  • Data-Driven & Systems Optimization: Proven ability to establish program metrics, analyze supply chain data, and utilize ERP/procurement tools to streamline operations.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification.

  • Proven track record in process development and scaling workflows in ambiguous, rapid-growth environments.
