Varstaff is searching for an Engineer - Manufacturing Tooling II/III (Req 37722243) to support a private rocket program (New Glenn production) at Rocket Park in Cape Canaveral, FL.
About the Role
This is a six-month assignment (15 openings). You will design and deliver the tooling that builds and moves launch vehicle hardware, managing tooling projects from concept through commissioning.

This is a six-month assignment (15 openings). You will design and deliver the tooling that builds and moves launch vehicle hardware, managing tooling projects from concept through commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Design simple tooling for the New Glenn program: assembly fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers and custom machinery.
- Create CAD models and drawings per ASME Y14.5.
- Manage tooling projects end to end: concept, vendor selection, procurement, fabrication, inspection, installation, proof testing and commissioning.
- Perform root cause analysis on tooling and manufacturing issues.
- BS in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in tooling design, fabrication and procurement.
- CAD experience, including Creo Parametric and Windchill.
- GD&T and basic hand calculations.
- 3+ years of direct manufacturing experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, green card holder, refugee or asylee.
- Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or aerospace engineering.
- Design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA) and rate production experience.
- Tolerance stack-up analysis.
- CNC, welding, sheet metal and rigging knowledge.
- FEA experience with ANSYS.
